About

This is a very short interactive fiction about grieving the loss of my father who died in 2022.

Background

This was initially conceptualized while I was in a mood of anticipatory grief, born out of a dream about a cat looking for something. I told my artist sibling about this dream while we were in the hospital and showed them some notes I had written. We were in the waiting room while documents were being processed for our father who was terminally ill. We talked about some of the pixel designs to pass the time.

Why make this?

Honestly, I just really want to delete the digital notebook. And I told myself I can only archive a WIP if I finish it. The game jam was a good opportunity to do so.

If you look at the notes I had, you'd see there have been many changes regarding the gameplay I had initially planned and what is playable now.

I had just found out about bitsy and bipsi around the time I was conceptualizing this, and was interested in learning about them.

When I saw this game jam, I had seen binksi in passing. It's bipsi + ink, and I like ink, so… yeah.
